  • Likely hours: 4 hours per week

Do you have a few hours a week to help people struggling with loss and bereavement? We’re looking for compassionate volunteers to join us as Listener Volunteers, offering one‑to‑one support to patients and their family members affected by life‑limiting illness, from diagnosis through bereavement. As a Listener Volunteer, you will help clients feel heard, understood and supported. You don’t need clinical knowledge — just a caring and reliable approach.

This role will suit you if you are:

  • A great listener and clear communicator
  • Empathetic, patient and non-judgemental
  • Able to maintain professional boundaries
  • Friendly and approachable
  • Reliable and able to manage your time independently
  • Confident using basic IT (email, forms, virtual calls)
  • Aged 18 or over
