As a Meet & Greet Volunteer on our Inpatient Unit, you’ll be one of the first friendly faces that families, visitors and professionals see when they arrive.

Opportunity details

  • Likely hours: Weekends: 3–4‑hour shifts – ideally to cover hours 5pm‑8pm; Midweek: 3–4‑hour shift – on an ad hoc basis

Are you friendly and welcoming? A warm welcome can make all the difference. You’ll be helping them feel reassured, supported and cared for at what can be a very emotional time.

What you’ll be doing

  • Welcoming visitors and relatives to the unit and letting them in via the buzzer system
  • Checking who visitors are here to see and liaising with the nursing team
  • Helping ensure sign‑in procedures are followed
  • Keeping the welcome area calm, tidy and welcoming
  • Supporting visitors with kindness and empathy
  • Managing deliveries, donations and welcoming ambulance crews
  • Helping with small ad‑hoc tasks such as answering the phone

You won’t be providing clinical care — your role is all about presence, reassurance and support.
