Quantity Surveyor – Help Drive Value for Money Across Peabody’s Repairs Service Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in repairs and maintenance? Join Peabody and play a key role in ensuring our responsive repairs, voids and major repairs programmes deliver excellent value for money alongside high-quality services for residents. Working closely with Surveyors, Operational Teams and Contractors, you'll provide commercial expertise, cost control and guidance on the NHF Schedule of Rates, helping drive efficiency and performance across our Property Services operation. What you'll be doing * Manage the commercial delivery of repairs, voids and major works from instruction to final account. * Monitor budgets, forecasts and costs to maintain strong financial control. * Review valuations, variations and contractor accounts. * Apply and manage NHF Schedule of Rates, including V8 and bespoke codes. * Identify opportunities to improve value for money and strengthen commercial controls. * Work with Surveyors and operational colleagues to challenge and improve scopes of work. * Analyse contractor performance, spend and trends to identify risks and opportunities. * Produce commercial reports, forecasts and cost/value reconciliations. * Support compliance with contractual, financial and audit requirements. What you'll bring * Experience as a Quantity Surveyor within social housing, repairs, maintenance or a similar environment. * Strong working knowledge of the NHF Schedule of Rates, including V8. * Experience managing responsive repairs, planned maintenance or void contracts. * Strong commercial, analytical and negotiation skills. * Experience reviewing contractor performance, valuations and variations. * Confidence challenging costs and driving value-for-money decisions. Qualifications * Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline, or equivalent HNC/HND qualification and relevant experience. * Professional membership (RICS, CIOB or equivalent) is desirable.
