Our Vacancy
We are seeking an Electrical Compliance Inspector to join our Compliance and Fire Safety team and play a vital role in ensuring the quality, safety, and compliance of electrical works delivered across Peabody's homes and properties.
You will be responsible for carrying out post-inspections of completed electrical works, reviewing certification, identifying defects, monitoring contractor performance, and ensuring works are completed to the highest standards.
Working across a portfolio of properties, predominantly in West London, you'll work independently to manage inspections while partnering with contractors, residents, and internal teams to drive continuous improvement and deliver excellent customer outcomes.
What you'll do
- Carry out post-inspections of electrical works completed by maintenance contractors and internal teams.
- Review electrical certification, commissioning documentation, drawings, and handover information to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Identify defects, non-compliant works, and remedial actions, ensuring issues are resolved within agreed timescales.
- Monitor contractor performance and quality, benchmarking results and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Produce detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate electronic records.
- Support compliance across electrical workstreams, ensuring adherence to organisational policies, procedures, and statutory requirements.
- Provide technical advice and guidance on electrical installations, inspections, and compliance matters.
- Work closely with colleagues across Asset Compliance and Fire Safety teams to support wider compliance objectives.
- Build positive relationships with residents, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure excellent customer service is delivered.
- Assist in monitoring project costs, compliance targets, and performance measures.
- What you'll need
- Significant experience working as a qualified electrician.
- City & Guilds 2381/2382 (18th Edition) qualification and City & Guilds 2391 or 2394/2395 Inspection and Testing qualification (or equivalent).
- Strong knowledge of electrical installations, testing, certification, and compliance requirements.
- Experience carrying out electrical inspections, testing, quality assurance activities, or compliance audits.
- Good understanding of Health & Safety legislation and safe systems of work.
- Experience reviewing contractor performance and identifying quality improvements.
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to produce accurate and detailed inspection reports.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and work independently.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
