At Peabody, we’re committed to creating safe, thriving communities. We’re looking for a skilled and proactive Electrical Contracts Manager to lead the delivery of essential electrical and building safety works across our homes and neighbourhoods.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for managing the successful delivery of both planned and reactive maintenance, compliance servicing, and capital upgrade projects, focusing on critical life safety systems such as fire alarms and automatic opening vents (AOVs). You’ll oversee contractors, consultants, and suppliers to ensure all works are completed to a high standard, on time, and within budget. You’ll also play a key role in delivering Fire Risk Assessment (FRA) works related to life safety equipment, ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements. Your work will directly contribute to the safety and satisfaction of our residents, aligning with Peabody’s values and commitment to excellence.

About You
You’re a confident and proactive contract manager who thrives both independently and as part of a team. You’re skilled at building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and you’re comfortable working under pressure to meet tight deadlines. With a keen eye for detail and a commitment to excellence, you bring a forward-thinking approach to your work and a genuine passion for delivering safe, high-quality outcomes for residents.
You’ll also bring with you:
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent – desirable)
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for site visits
- Proven experience managing electrical safety projects, ideally within housing or building safety environments
- Practical knowledge of Automatic Opening Vents (AOVs) and communal fire alarm systems
- Strong understanding of building safety regulations, particularly for high-rise buildings
- Solid IT skills, with the ability to use relevant software and systems effectively
