Join us as a Duty Operations Assistant Apprentice and help bring our community spaces to life. You’ll play an important role in creating welcoming, safe and inclusive environments where residents can connect, access services, and thrive.
Working alongside our Community Properties Leads and Managers, you’ll gain valuable hands‑on experience across customer service, administration, facilities operations and health & safety, all while completing a fully funded Level 2 Facilities Services Operative Apprenticeship. What You’ll Be Doing
- Be the friendly face of our community centres, providing a welcoming front‑of‑house reception service
- Support residents, community groups and partners by signposting services and helping activities run smoothly
- Assist with room bookings, payments, invoices and purchase orders using internal systems
- Help prepare spaces by setting up and clearing down rooms for activities and events
- Carry out routine health & safety checks, including fire alarms and building inspections
- Support the smooth day‑to‑day running of centres, ensuring spaces are clean, safe and well maintained
- Respond to enquiries via phone and email, delivering excellent, professional customer service
- Work with colleagues to coordinate activities, manage diaries and keep records accurate and up to date
- Assist with reporting, data collection and tracking performance (KPIs)
- Get involved in community projects, local initiatives and events
About The Apprenticeship
As part of your 15‑month apprenticeship, you’ll spend at least 20 % of your time learning and developing, taking part in training sessions, workshops and regular 1:1 review. You’ll complete assignments and assessments linked to your day‑to‑day role, receive mentoring and support from experienced colleagues, and gain exposure to different teams across the organisation. Your programme will conclude with an end‑point assessment to achieve your qualification. Across your apprenticeship, you’ll build a strong foundation in operations, compliance and customer service, setting you up for future career opportunities.

- You’re organised, proactive and able to manage multiple tasks in a busy environment.
- A strong communicator, confident speaking to residents, colleagues and stakeholders
- Positive, reliable and motivated, with a genuine “can‑do” attitude
- Eager to learn, develop new skills and grow professionally
- Interested in health & safety, facilities and community‑based work
- Flexible, with the ability to work across sites and occasional evenings/weekends
- Level 2 qualifications (5 GCSEs or equivalent)
- Basic IT skills (e.g. Word, Outlook)

- You’ve lived in the UK, EEA, Switzerland, or Gibraltar for the last 3 years (you’ll need to prove it).
- You don’t already have a qualification at the same level or higher in this subject.
- You’ll be 18 or older when the apprenticeship starts.
