We’re looking for a Community Safety Specialist to join our South Region team, someone who is proactive, visible, and committed to delivering a fair, compassionate and effective community safety service.
In this role, you’ll work closely with residents, colleagues and partners to manage a full range of anti-social behaviour (ASB) cases, ensuring every action reflects our values: Be kind, Do the right thing, Love new ideas, Celebrate diversity, Keep our promises and Pull together.
What you’ll do as Community Safety Officer:
- Lead on a varied caseload of ASB work, from low‑level issues through to complex, high‑risk cases requiring legal action.
- Prepare case files, statements and court documentation and represent the organisation professionally at court, panels and multi‑agency meetings.
- Work collaboratively with Police, local authorities and internal teams to coordinate timely and effective interventions.
- Give practical advice and support to Neighbourhood Managers, helping prevent issues from escalating and ensuring cases are recorded, assessed and progressed in line with policy.
- Maintain accurate records, monitor KPIs and contribute to a learning culture where we continuously review and improve how we respond to community safety concerns.
- Be a visible and accessible presence across the South Region, building trust and confidence with residents and partners.
What you’ll bring (Essential for shortlisting):
- Proven experience managing ASB or community safety cases end‑to‑end, including investigations, evidence‑gathering, and preparing or contributing to legal action.
- Strong working knowledge of ASB legislation, legal and non‑legal tools, and how to apply them appropriately in different scenarios.
- Confident communication skills, with the ability to engage sensitively with residents, influence partners, and represent the organisation at panels, case conferences and, where required, court.
- Excellent organisation and judgement, able to prioritise a varied caseload, manage risk effectively, and maintain accurate records within agreed timeframes.
- A values‑led approach empathetic, resilient, collaborative, and committed to delivering a fair, safe and customer‑focused service every time.
