Assistant Building Surveyor - Build Your Career While Making a Difference Are you looking to develop your surveying career within a large and diverse housing portfolio? As an Assistant Building Surveyor, you'll support the delivery of repairs, maintenance, disrepair, voids and planned works, helping ensure residents live in safe, well-maintained homes. Working alongside experienced Building Surveyors and Property Services teams, you'll gain valuable exposure to a wide range of surveying activities while developing your technical expertise and project management skills.
What you’ll be doing
- Support the delivery of repairs, maintenance, disrepair and voids programmes across your region.
- Carry out property inspections, diagnose defects and prepare reports, specifications and cost estimates.
- Monitor contractor performance, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time and to the required standard.

- This role includes participation in the Property Services Out of Hours rota, which is a requirement of the role and may include evenings and weekends.
- You'll work closely with Building Surveyors, contractors and operational teams to support the delivery of high-quality property services.
Experience in building surveying, building maintenance or a related property environment. - Knowledge of building defects, repairs and maintenance, with an understanding of value for money principles.
- Strong communication, organisational and customer service skills.
- The ability to manage competing priorities and work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders., Degree, HNC or HND in Building Surveying or a related discipline, or relevant experience.
- Candidates working towards a Building Surveying qualification are also encouraged to apply.
