Position Overview:
Peabody Properties, Inc. is seeking an experienced Lease-Up Compliance Manager in Salem, MA. The Compliance Manager is responsible for the successful completion of affordable and/or mixed-income community rent-up, from initial marketing through to investor reporting and beyond as necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee lottery and pre-application processes within city/state/federal rules and regulations.
- Communicate with prospects and applicants via email, phone, fax, and in person, maintaining the waiting list as required by lenders, investors, or agencies.
- Conduct application and initial certification interviews, process files for eligibility, and complete lease signings in accordance with policies and regulations.
- Coordinate unit inspections with housing authorities as needed.
- Complete internal and external reports to monitor project success and communicate concerns promptly.
- Assist site staff in preparing for audits, recertifications, and reporting.
- Provide on-site coverage for emergencies, crises, or staff turnover as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Experience with Low Income Housing Tax Credits, Section 8, or similar programs.
- Experience with Lease-Up activities for affordable properties.
- Understanding of Fair Housing Laws.
- Proficiency in basic math concepts.
- Leadership, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Knowledge of RealPage products is preferred.
- Certifications such as COS, CPO, SHCM are a plus.
- Willingness to travel and work weekends as needed.
