PE Global is currently recruiting for a QC Microbiology Technician on behalf of a leading global pharmaceutical manufacturing organisation based in Swindon.
Location: Swindon, UK
Job Type: 12-Month Contract
Pay Rate: Β£13.58 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain the microbiology laboratory and ensure laboratory readiness at all times.
- Monitor stock levels, manage inventory, and support ordering processes including standing orders.
- Prepare media, conduct pH testing, autoclave waste, and sterilise equipment.
- Support routine laboratory maintenance and equipment checks.
- Collect and process deliveries, book in media and consumables.
- Maintain weekly stock culture isolates and ensure correct stock rotation procedures.
- Complete documentation in accordance with GLP, GMP, and company SOPs.
- Maintain controlled laboratory documents, SOPs, and logbooks.
- Support environmental monitoring and in-process sampling activities.
- Conduct Growth Promotion testing of incoming goods.
- Archive documentation and maintain accurate laboratory records.
- Respond to equipment excursions and complete trending activities as required.
- Support laboratory washing activities including glassware cleaning and use of glass washers.
- Utilise EDMS systems where required.
- Provide general support to Scientists and Senior Scientists within the QC Microbiology team.
Candidate Requirements:
- Previous experience working in a laboratory environment is desirable.
- Understanding of GMP/GLP principles would be advantageous.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to follow SOPs and work within regulated procedures.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexible approach to support weekend laboratory operations when required.
