PE Global is currently recruiting for an experienced Operations Support Technician to join our multinational chemicals and energy technology client based in Southampton. This role is an initial 3-month contract and the rate for this role is £16.41 p/hour, with the potential for additional shift allowance once fully trained.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quality control testing of raw materials, in-process samples, finished products, and returned materials
  • Support shift coverage within the Operations Support Technician team
  • Investigate and communicate QC failures, supporting timely product release or recovery actions
  • Maintain QC records and update SAP database information accurately
  • Assist with the introduction of new products, including recipe/specification data management and preliminary testing
  • Ensure laboratory equipment is calibrated and maintained in line with schedules
  • Follow all QHSE procedures and maintain a strong safety-first culture
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the laboratory environment

Requirements:

  • Degree or HNC qualification in a science-related discipline
  • Previous laboratory experience preferred, but not essential
  • Practical understanding of laboratory equipment
  • Strong communication, organisation, and prioritisation skills
  • Competent user of Microsoft Office packages including Excel and Word
  • Flexible approach to working hours and shift patterns
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment

Additional Information:

  • 37.5 hours per week
  • Initial working hours: 06:00 – 14:00, 5 days per week
  • Once trained, shift rotation will move to 06:00 – 18:30, 3 days per week
  • Potential additional shift allowance of up to £375 per month
  • Strong possibility of a permanent opportunity following the contract period
  • Suitable for university students or recent graduates seeking laboratory experience

Please note PE Global cannot provide visa sponsorship for this role; candidates will need the full right to live and work within the UK for at least the next 6 months.
