PE Global is currently recruiting for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join our international manufacturing client based in Peterlee, County Durham. This is an initial 12-month contract position offering rates up to £44.96 p/hour.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, analyse and manage manufacturing, fabrication, paint and assembly projects
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities to ensure successful product launches
  • Drive continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives across production operations
  • Identify and resolve operational issues relating to safety, ergonomics, quality and efficiency
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers to deliver manufacturing projects
  • Support implementation of new manufacturing equipment, systems and processes
  • Coordinate manufacturing process validation and best practice activities
  • Provide technical guidance and support across manufacturing engineering activities

Requirements

  • Previous experience within a manufacturing engineering environment
  • Experience managing projects and/or supporting new model introduction activities
  • Strong understanding of New Product Introduction (NPI) processes
  • Background within heavy manufacturing, automotive or similar industrial sectors preferred
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Good understanding of Microsoft 365
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in a manufacturing engineering-related discipline desirable
  • Experience with lean manufacturing, APQP/PPAP, safety or ergonomic processes would be advantageous

Additional Information

  • Full-time onsite role based in Peterlee
  • Working hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 4:00pm with some flexibility
  • 36.5 hours per week
  • Single-stage face-to-face interview process
