The predicted salary is between 22.5 - 22.5 £ per hour.

PE Global is currently recruiting for an experienced Electronics & Instrumentation Technician to join our engineering client based in Peterborough.

The role is an initial 12-month contract and the rate for this role is up to £22.50 per hour PAYE or £30.54 Umbrella.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble, maintain and upgrade instrumentation panels to required standards.
  • Carry out calibration, preventative maintenance and repairs on precision instrumentation and electronic control systems.
  • Perform electronic fault finding and diagnostics using specialist equipment.
  • Provide first-line breakdown support for engine test cells and associated equipment.
  • Install, commission and maintain new, refurbished and modified test equipment.
  • Upgrade and maintain engine test rigs and associated apparatus.
  • Read and interpret electronic schematics, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic drawings.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
  • Work closely with engineers, contractors and cross-functional teams to support testing and development activities.
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with health and safety procedures.

Requirements

  • Level 3 Engineering Apprenticeship (Electrical/Electronic) or equivalent hands-on industry experience.
  • Experience building and wiring instrumentation or electrical control panels.
  • Strong background in calibration, fault finding and maintenance of precision instrumentation.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and electronic schematics.
  • Understanding of wiring regulations and electrical standards.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working to health and safety regulations.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • HNC or equivalent in an Electrical or Electronic Engineering discipline.
  • Experience working within an engine test facility or similar environment.
  • Knowledge of Root Cause Analysis methodologies.
  • IET 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).
  • Experience across both electrical and electronics disciplines.
  • Background in aerospace, defence or other precision engineering industries.
