The predicted salary is between 28 - 38 Β£ per hour.
PE Global is recruiting a Development Technician for our manufacturing client based in Peterborough. This is a 12-month contract and the rate is Β£14.24 PAYE or Β£19.33 Umbrella p/h + 20% shift allowance.
Shift pattern: This will be for a 24/7 shift pattern: 4 nights β 2 days off β 3 days on β 2 days off β 3 nights on β 2 days off β 4 days on β 8 days off. The whole cycle is 28 days in which you work 14.
Responsibilities:
- Follow documented standard work procedures/instructions to perform safe and defect-free installations of engines into test cells along with the connection of test measurement and associated equipment and services that allow for high-quality data collection.
- Liaise and communicate with engineers responsible for engine test programs.
- Diagnose and fix a range of faults on both engines and test cell equipment.
- Keep the work area clean, tidy, and safe in line with 5S and total preventative maintenance (TPM).
- Support value stream improvement projects.
- 85% test bed operations, 15% training/development and improvement activities.
Applicants must be self-motivated, with good teamworking skills and be willing to work shifts.
Requirements:
- Good engine and mechanical diagnostic/problem-solving skills.
- Previous experience in motor vehicle maintenance or engine testing.
- A good working knowledge of instrumentation and its application.
- Open to a range of experience levels, minimum of around a year would be most beneficial to us.
- Good PC skills and ability to use Microsoft Office applications.
- Basic knowledge of the 365 package.
