Our client is a leading specialist in the delivery of large-scale, mission-critical infrastructure projects across Europe. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Project Planner to join their project team in Newcastle, supporting the successful delivery of complex construction projects.

The Role

As a Project Planner, you will play a key role in the development, monitoring, and management of project schedules, ensuring all activities are planned and executed in line with programme requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules aligned with overall project objectives.
  • Support the coordination of planning activities throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Monitor project progress and identify potential delays, risks, and programme impacts.
  • Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Package Managers, Design Teams, and Subcontractors to ensure schedule alignment.
  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of both short-term and long-term construction programmes.
  • Track progress against key milestones and report on programme performance.
  • Attend planning, progress, and project review meetings.
  • Analyse critical paths and identify opportunities to optimise project delivery.
  • Review subcontractor programmes to ensure alignment with the master project schedule.
  • Provide regular schedule updates and progress reports to stakeholders.
  • Support the preparation of programme-related information for claims and variations.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date planning documentation.
  • Assist in resolving scheduling and coordination challenges across the project.

Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 4 years' experience in a Project Planning role within construction or engineering environments.
  • Experience supporting programme development and project controls on construction projects.
  • Proficiency in planning software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or equivalent.
  • Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Good understanding of construction sequencing and project delivery methodologies.
  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Previous experience on data centre, industrial, mission-critical, or large-scale infrastructure projects.
