We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our dynamic team in Peterborough, UK. This role focuses on improving manufacturing efficiency and industrial layouts through engineering analysis, process optimization, and quality control. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and the ability to interpret complex engineering documentation. This is an initial 12-month contract.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse time, motion, methods, and operational speed in production and maintenance to establish optimal production rates.
- Interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and formulas; collaborate with management to define and maintain quality and reliability standards.
- Review logs, product processing sheets, and specifications to ensure alignment with quality assurance protocols.
- Assist in planning work assignments based on production capacity, employee performance, and scheduling considerations.
- Develop visual tools—charts, graphs, floor plans, and diagrams—to map workflows and optimize resource utilization.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor\’s degree in Engineering (required).
- Strong creative, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and CAD reports.
- Skilled in creating engineering drawings, sketches, and technical computations.
- Proficient in engineering-related software, especially Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools.
- Highly detail-oriented and collaborative with a team-focused mindset.
