PE Global is currently recruiting for an experienced Drilling Fluids Plant Operator to join our oilfield services client based in Aberdeen. This role is an initial 6-month contract, with the possibility of extension based on performance. The rate is dependent on experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely blend and mix bulk drilling fluid products for delivery to wellsites in accordance with job programme requirements.
- Calculate and verify material quantities required for product blends prior to loading.
- Follow quality assurance procedures to ensure accurate product preparation and loading.
- Coordinate the movement of bulk products to and from operational locations alongside the Logistics and PSD teams.
- Complete daily operational paperwork and assist with monthly inventory management activities.
- Ensure additives are correctly labelled, stored, and disposed of in accordance with company procedures.
- Perform daily inspections and basic maintenance of bulk plant equipment, ensuring facilities are kept clean and operational.
- Participate in job risk assessments and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Adhere to all Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) policies, procedures, and PPE requirements.
- Assist with the training and development of other operators and trainees where required.
Requirements
- Valid Forklift Driving Licence (minimum B1 category) – essential.
- Previous plant operations or mud plant experience is required.
- Experience working within drilling fluids, oil & gas, manufacturing, logistics, or bulk materials environments is advantageous.
- Strong commitment to health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to complete documentation accurately and on time.
- Flexible approach to working hours, including participation in monthly back-shift rotations.
Contract Details
- Initial 6-month contract with potential extension based on performance.
- 37.5 hours per week.
- Includes 7 nights of back shift once per month.
- Overtime and double-time rates applicable.
- Locations: Pocra Quay, Westhill, and Torry Dock, Aberdeen.
