PE Global is currently recruiting for an Operator to join our engineering client based in Manchester. This position sits within the Machine Shop (Greengate) and involves hands‑on work with metal components, hand tools, grinding tools and general shop‑floor operations. An FLT licence is highly desirable but not essential. The role is an initial 6-month contract.
Pay Rate: £14.20/hr
Hours: 36hrs. Mon - Thurs 06.00-14.00 / 14.00-22.00 with 30min break. Fri 06.00-12.00 / 12.00-18.00
Key Responsibilities:
- Deburring and polishing of metal components
- Part marking duties as required
- Painting, stamping and stencilling of products
- Completion of route cards and other administrative tasks
- FLT duties where required
- General housekeeping and maintaining a clean, safe work area
- Performing basic preventative maintenance on equipment
- Supporting wider business needs and tasks as directed by the line manager
- Complying with all NOV company policies and HSE procedures
- Occasional travel as required
Skills & Experience Required:
- Essential:
- Experience working in a high‑productivity manufacturing or machine‑shop environment
- Computer literacy
- Manual handling, slinging and lifting knowledge
- Strong HSE awareness
- Desirable:
- FLT licence
- Experience using hand tools, grinding tools, deburring and polishing equipment
