PE Global is recruiting an Environmental Manager for our personal care client based in Barrow-In-Furness. The role is an initial 3-month role and the rate range for this role is £22.33 - £29.53 p/h.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the implementation of process and management system opportunities to ensure legislative compliance and exceed performance standards.
- Maintain and improve the Environmental Management System to corporate and internationally certified standards.
- Ensure all critical legal and corporate reporting requirements are delivered.
- Collaborate with the Environment Agency and other authorities to ensure permit conditions are agreed and complied with.
- Influence process design and development in environmental management across the UK Mills.
- Provide reactive and proactive EHS support to Barrow Mill.
- Support collection of monitoring data.
- Understand capabilities and limitations of existing process designs and identify opportunities for improvement in asset efficiency.
- Advise Managers and Senior Engineers on legislative environmental requirements.
- Guide new plant and equipment design to ensure environmental best practices.
- Oversee and support effluent plant operations, ensuring compliance and optimization of water recycling.
- Document and maintain process control parameters.
- Manage waste streams and ensure compliance with legal and corporate requirements.
- Ensure compliance with emissions regulations and support management of radiation sources.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or related field, or a diploma in Environmental Management.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in an Environment Agency permitted facility.
- Experience in waste water treatment and management.
- Knowledge of radiation protection and Legionella management.
- Familiarity with Environmental Management Systems (ISO14000).
