PE Global is currently recruiting for a Design Engineer (engines) for a leading multinational manufacturer of construction and mining equipment client based in Stafford.

This is an initial 12 months contract position working on site 5 days a week.

Pay rate is £21.21ph PAYE or £28.79ph Umbrella.

Duties of the role/Responsibilities

  • Researching new materials and competitive products. Organizing, coordinating, and executing the building, testing, and analysis of prototypes.
  • Assisting supply specialists and buyers with supplier development and supplier performance.
  • Leading and supporting DFMEA and DVP&R creation.
  • Provides effective technical solutions to routine functional challenges via sound technical competence, effectively examining implications of events and issues.
  • Release of product designs into engineering systems to a high quality and defect free standard
  • Leads the design, analysis, and simulation elements. Prepares and maintains personal plans and is responsible for meeting scheduled dates.
  • Prepare presentations and to share proposals and solutions with other members of the organisation.
  • Be single point of contact to the “Cost-Down” project team and be the engineering lead within that group.

Education/Experience

  • Requires a bachelor degree in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science curriculum plus 1-3 years’.
  • Experience in Diesel / spark ignited engine design
  • Product Development experience
  • Extensive knowledge of Creo
  • Ability to perform simple simulation work
  • Good mechanical aptitude with ability to develop product concepts.
  • Requires strong leadership ability and good communications skills.
