Overview
PE Global is recruiting an APQP Design Engineer for our client based in Peterlee. The role is an initial 12-month contract with a rate of £25.84 PAYE or £34.92 Umbrella per hour. This position sits in the product development excellence organisation to lead Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) with our product development teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver key elements of APQP, including: Requirements Management, Boundary Diagram, Interface Analysis, Quality Function Deployment (QFD), Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA), Design Verification Plans & Reports (DVP&R), Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), and Process Control Plan.
- Collaborate with design teams to develop product architecture definition through boundary diagrams.
- Develop and deliver level-appropriate requirements with linkage to levels above and below in the product hierarchy.
- Deliver a comprehensive list of recommended design and process actions, special process controls, and validation activities to mitigate high-risk areas.
- Contribute to the concept, development, and design of complex components, subsystems, or processes.
- Perform complex analysis to identify design/process risk and develop mitigation plans.
Qualifications
- Degree in an accredited Engineering curriculum (Mechanical, Agricultural, Electrical, or Aeronautical Engineering) is desirable.
- 3 – 5 years experience in Design Engineering.
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Strong quality focus.
