PE Global is currently recruiting for an experienced EHS Supervisor to join our engineering/manufacturing client based in Desford. This is an initial 12-month contract position and the rate for this role is up to £28.50 p/hr PAYE or £39.03 p/hr Umbrella.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership, mentoring, and direction across Environmental, Health & Safety activities onsite.
- Manage the facility risk assessment programme and implement effective hazard control measures.
- Oversee EHS training programmes to ensure regulatory compliance and support business objectives.
- Conduct audits of EHS programmes to ensure compliance with company standards and government regulations.
- Monitor EHS performance trends and escalate issues to management where required.
- Lead incident investigation processes, including RCCA and Just Culture application.
- Drive safety culture and behavioural improvement initiatives across the site.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to support EHS management and continuous improvement activities.
- Support environmental compliance, sustainability initiatives, and EHS reporting requirements.
- Produce professional communication documents and provide guidance on EHS best practices.
Requirements:
- NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent degree-level qualification in Health & Safety or related discipline is essential.
- Minimum 5 years’ EHS experience within engineering, manufacturing, or complex industrial environments.
- Proven ability to assess risk and interpret corporate EHS strategy into site-level actions.
- Strong experience managing EHS activities with minimal supervision in fast-paced environments.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Previous leadership experience within EHS teams.
- Experience driving safety culture improvements and behavioural change initiatives.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a demanding workload effectively.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Teams; Power BI experience would be advantageous.
Additional Information:
- Fully onsite role based in Desford.
- Standard hours are Monday to Thursday 8:00am–4:00pm and Friday 8:00am–12:00pm, with some flexibility available depending on business needs.
- Two-stage interview process consisting of an initial Teams interview followed by a face-to-face interview.
- Please note PE Global cannot provide visa sponsorship for this role; candidates will need the full right to live and work within the UK for at least the next 12 months.
