The successful candidate will play a key leadership role in delivering one of the region’s most significant data centre developments while contributing to the continued growth of a market-leading organisation.
Reporting directly to the Project Director, the Project Lead will assume overall responsibility for the successful delivery of the project, ensuring all works are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires a highly capable construction professional with strong leadership skills, commercial awareness, and proven experience managing large-scale complex projects.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the overall delivery of the project from construction through to completion and client handover.
- Manage project costs, programme schedules, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Coordinate and oversee subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and project stakeholders to ensure efficient execution of all project activities.
- Monitor critical project milestones and proactively identify and mitigate risks to programme delivery.
- Review and evaluate construction methodologies, commercial proposals, pricing submissions, and scopes of work.
- Chair and lead client meetings, project progress reviews, and coordination meetings.
- Monitor factors impacting project costs and provide detailed reporting, analysis, and recommendations to senior management.
- Manage procurement activities and oversee long-lead equipment and material delivery schedules.
- Review, validate, and audit cost estimates, valuations, and financial submissions from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Support engineering and design teams by providing cost and programme input during design development and change management processes.
- Track equipment procurement, manufacturing, and delivery progress against project schedules.
- Collaborate with project controls and planning teams to ensure accurate reporting and schedule management.
- Review and approve subcontractor applications for payment, invoices, and retention releases.
- Lead the project close-out process, ensuring all documentation, warranties, commissioning records, and final deliverables are completed to client requirements.
- Promote and maintain the highest standards of health, safety, quality, and environmental compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in a senior project leadership role within construction, engineering, mission-critical, infrastructure, or data centre environments.
- Proven track record managing large-scale construction projects from inception through completion.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience in cost management, budgeting, forecasting, and financial control.
- Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
- Experience working on data centre, mission-critical, pharmaceutical, industrial, or large-scale infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
