PE Global Recruitment is currently partnering with a leading international engineering and construction contractor to recruit an experienced Electrical Project Manager for a major hyperscale data centre project based in Blyth, UK. This is an excellent opportunity to join a market-leading organisation delivering large-scale mission-critical infrastructure projects across Europe. The successful candidate will take ownership of the electrical package, ensuring works are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
The Role
As Electrical Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the complete electrical scope of works, coordinating internal teams, subcontractors, consultants, and client stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery. You will play a key leadership role on-site, driving programme adherence, quality, safety, and commercial performance throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate all electrical installation activities across the project.
- Lead electrical design coordination and technical interfaces with internal teams and specialist subcontractors.
- Monitor project progress, ensuring delivery against programme, budget, and quality targets.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and key project stakeholders.
- Drive productivity through effective short-term and long-term planning.
- Promote and maintain the highest standards of Health, Safety, and Quality compliance.
- Monitor critical project milestones and proactively manage risks to programme delivery.
- Manage labour resources, plant, materials, and subcontractor performance.
- Lead and mentor project delivery teams including engineers, supervisors, package managers, and foremen.
- Coordinate project activities to ensure resources, information, equipment, and materials are available when required.
- Manage interfaces with other trades and subcontractors to maintain safe and efficient site operations.
- Review and approve project documentation, reports, and site records.
- Prepare and present weekly project reports covering: Health & Safety performance, Programme progress, Planned versus actual activities, 12-week look-ahead schedules, Procurement status and long-lead items, Variations and change management, Risks, delays, and mitigation plans.
- Chair weekly coordination meetings with project stakeholders including construction, QA/QC, safety, and BIM teams. Ensure actions are tracked, assigned, and closed out effectively.
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years' experience managing large-scale electrical construction projects.
- Experience within data centres, mission-critical facilities, commercial developments, healthcare, education, industrial, or large-scale infrastructure projects. Data centre experience is highly desirable.
- Electrical trade background or Engineering qualification preferred.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex electrical packages from installation through commissioning.
- Strong leadership and people management capabilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven ability to manage project schedules, budgets, subcontractors, and resources in fast-paced construction environments.
