PE Global is currently recruiting for an experienced CNC Machinist to join our engineering and manufacturing client based in Barrow. This role is an initial 6-month contract, and the rate for this position is £22 per hour.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program, set, and operate CNC machines, including Mazak 5-axis lathes using G-code and M-code controls.
  • Operate manual lathes and Gate Mill machinery as required.
  • Interpret and work from engineering drawings, CAD data, and technical specifications.
  • Create, optimise, and edit CNC programs to maximise machining efficiency and minimise downtime.
  • Perform precision machining of components to tight tolerances and quality standards.
  • Conduct tool selection, tool setting, and offset adjustments to ensure high-quality output.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a CNC Machinist/Programmer, ideally within a precision engineering environment.
  • Strong experience programming and operating Mazak CNC machines.
  • Experience with Integrex 200-III programming.
  • Proficiency with Mazatrol Fusion 640 and SolidCAM software (essential).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manufacturing specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality precision components.
