PE Global are currently recruiting for a Medical Education Associate with a deep knowledge of obesity for a contract role with a leading multinational Pharma client. As a Medical Education Associate/Consultant, you will be in a customer-facing position, delivering and facilitating education with a primary focus on obesity. You will have a deep knowledge of obesity and be a key influencer in clinical and therapeutic management, and have current awareness of educational trends and regulations in the external environment. You will translate these insights into meaningful strategies and education solutions that deliver exceptional health care professional experiences.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective educational strategies and best practices to optimize the delivery and impact of educational programs aligned with business needs within your region.
  • Anticipate and have contingency plans for changes in the internal environment and emerging science to ensure timely and rapid adjustments as necessary to meet business and educational priorities.
  • Work collaboratively and cross-functionally to drive the education strategy within your region, tailoring programs to meet the unique needs of local healthcare communities.
  • Utilize feedback and data analytics to measure the success of educational initiatives and make informed data-driven decisions to ensure the highest standards of educational quality.
  • Act as Medical Education subject matter expert within the respective Region, designing and deploying local Medical Education initiatives.
  • Champion Medical Education: Lead/facilitate the delivery of high-impact medical education programs that empower healthcare professionals to enhance patient care and outcomes.
  • Effectively communicate complex medical information in a clear and accessible manner.
  • Be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with multiple stakeholders within a designated Region including key Thought Leaders and key Educational Leaders/Speakers.
  • Follow guidelines to ensure quality submissions of educational programs that align with accreditation requirements and receive approval for credits to be used.
  • Attend/participate in regional, national and/or international congresses to engage with thought leaders, share insights on educational best practices and bring back valuable knowledge to enhance and shape future educational strategies.

Requirements:

  • Deep scientific and clinical knowledge of obesity pathophysiology and treatment landscape.
  • Clinical experience managing people living with obesity within NHS specialist weight management services or private weight management services is highly desirable.
  • Experience in delivering quality obesity or cardiometabolic education.
  • Experience in using data to make impactful strategic decisions.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to independently make decisions within guidelines established by internal policies and external regulations.
  • University degree (advanced degree in health sciences or Health Care Professional).
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English.
  • ABPI code examination. Supported by Lilly if not already achieved.
  • Full clean driving license.

Additional preferences:

  • Existing positive trusted relationships with stakeholders in the UK and Republic of Ireland within the therapy area of obesity.
  • Pharmaceutical experience.
  • Experience with accredited education.
  • Teaching qualification.
