PE Global is currently recruiting for an Embedded Firmware Engineer to join our technology client based in Cambourne. The role is an initial 24 month contract, working on a hybrid basis with a minimum of 2 days per week onsite.
AsanEmbeddedSoftwareEngineer,youwillhavesignificantimpactonourmultidisciplinaryR&Dprojects,growwithusasweventureintonewtechnologies,andcontributetotheconnecteddeviceslineofproductsthroughoutbothdiscoveryanddelivery.Youwilldesign,develop,debug,andoptimizerobust,production-readyfirmwareforresource-constrained,low-powerIoTdevices.
Theresponsibilitieswillincludedesigning,developing,debugging,andoptimizingembeddedfirmwareforlow-powerSTM32-basedIoTdevices;integratingGNSS,LoRaorLoRaWAN,andhardwareperipherals;DevelopingwithinanRTOSenvironment;anddeliveringreliable,maintainable,production-readycodeincollaborationwithmultidisciplinaryproductandplatformteamsintheUK,IsraelandCalifornia,USA.
Requirements
- ApproximatelyfiveyearsofembeddedsoftwareengineeringexperienceusingC/C++.
- Hands-onexperiencewithSTM32microcontrollersandembeddeddebugging.
- Provendeliveryoflow-powerfirmwareforbattery-operateddevices.
- ExperiencewithGNSS,LoRaorLoRaWAN,embeddedperipherals,andanRTOS.
- Abilitytoworkindependentlyanddeliverproduction-ready,maintainablefirmware.

- Experiencewithu-bloxM10ornewerGNSSarchitectures.
- Familiaritywithoscilloscopes,logicanalyzers,multimeters,andJ-LinkorST-Link.
- ExperiencewithGitandcollaborativedevelopmentworkflows.
- AbilitytoreadhardwareschematicsandPCBlayouts.
- ExperienceusingAI-assisteddevelopmenttoolssuchasGitHubCopilotorcomparabletools.
