PE Global is recruiting a Development Research Technician for our manufacturing client based in Peterborough. The role is an initial 12 month contract and the rate for this role is £14.20 p/h PAYE. Please note PE Global cannot assist with visa sponsorship; candidates will need the full right to live and work within the UK for at least the next 12 months.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to health and safety policy and safe working practices.
- There will be an expectation to travel & work at other facilities.
- Follow documented standard work procedures/instructions, using various hand, power tools and lifting equipment provided in the work area.
- Assist engineers in conducting technical investigations of current and future product working predominantly with engine components or systems to validate for performance and durability.
- Operate test equipment and conduct investigations as directed by an engineer to obtain, analyse and summarise data.
- Record evaluation results in appropriate form (curves, charts, tables, sketches, photographs) with the appropriate tools (hardcopy, software, etc.) to engineer for inclusion in technical reports.
- Depending on experience and demonstrated skills, may handle limited objective, moderately complex jobs without engineer's guidance.
- Technicians will be expected to have direct contact with components working in the lab and with test rigs; observing, operating and testing the product or component, together with recording of various test data measurement points.
Requirements
- Must-have hard skills are hand tools experience, soldering and electronic components.
- A desirable would be an engineering or motor mechanics apprenticeship or relevant experience.
