PE Global is currently recruiting for an Entry Level Food Science Technician for a leading multi-national confectionery, food, beverage, and snack food company client based in Reading and Wokingham. This is an initial 6 months contract position paying £13.30 ph PAYE. 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm.
Duties of the role/Responsibilities
- The role of Food Sciences Technician performs a range of routine activities to support effective completion of projects and meet the customer’s contractual agreements.
- The role holder will perform lab admin and housekeeping activities, basic routine analysis, food production and food product development and work in accordance with the food quality and safety standards across different departments.
- Perform laboratory tasks following specified methodologies, such as Standard Operating Procedures.
- Use of specified instrumentation and laboratory equipment, including calibration where required.
- Work to the highest standards of safety and quality by ensuring that appropriate COSHHs, risk assessments and SOPs are understood and followed.
Education/Experience
- Educated to A / HNC level in a relevant scientific discipline.
- Accountable, honest, hardworking and able to work efficiently in a team.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to perform repetitive work to high standards in high throughput environment.
