Suspension Component Design & Release Engineer

Duties:

Component design and release role for suspension mechanical and hydraulic components.

Responsible for working with multiple potential suppliers to develop components from concept selection through to launch.

Duties will include:

  1. Collating and agreeing requirements with internal stakeholders, and negotiating these design requirements with potential suppliers.
  2. Coordinating internal and supplier development activities to finalize product specifications.
  3. Working with Procurement to manage supplier selection processes.
  4. Managing chosen suppliers to deliver quality products on time, within budget, and meeting attribute targets.
  5. Delivering Gateway requirements for owned components within the JLR PCDS process.

Essential Skills:

  1. Experience working with automotive suppliers for mechanical and/or hydraulic components.
  2. Experience in component development and design verification planning and management.
  3. Experience with JLR on-cycle product and program delivery processes.
  4. Excellent communication skills and team player.

Desirable:

  1. Knowledge of hydraulics principles and underlying physics.
  2. Experience using Matlab for data analysis.
  3. Experience with quality tools such as DFMEA.

Education:

  • Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent.
