This role will be central to the sizing and development of new BEV or Hybrid powertrain technologies, through the successful running and development of 1D whole Powertrain CAE simulation tools.
Responsibilities:
- Run Powertrain and vehicle performance and efficiency CAE analyses, summarise results and feedback conclusions to the customers within the required governance framework.
- Ability to apply strong automotive product knowledge to verify input data validity and ratify results.
- Presentation of results as required in programme reviews.
- Work with the Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to ensure project documentation is managed and maintained.
- Liaise with all internal and external customers.
- Support the off cycle teams in continual development of tools and techniques which enhance capability, improve quality and robustness of virtual tools.
Essential:
- A strong working knowledge of electrified powertrain architectures and operating characteristics.
- Working knowledge and experience of system CAE methodologies and applications.
- Working knowledge and experience of powertrain system hardware CAE modelling and the hardware application during performance and efficiency vehicle test.
- Working knowledge and experience of key vehicle controls required for a vehicle to complete performance and efficiency vehicle test.
- Competent in the use of explicit and/or implicit software and associated pre and post processing packages for full vehicle system CAE analysis.
Desirable:
- Matlab and Simulink working knowledge.
