About you: We’re looking for an enthusiastic Veterinary Nurse Team Leader to join our friendly team at PDSA Portsmouth. As a Team Leader, you’ll support the Head Nurse by leading part of the nursing team to deliver efficient, professional and caring services in line with PDSA policies and procedures. You’ll manage a team of Veterinary Nurses and Veterinary Care Assistants who support in theatre, provide inpatient care and carry out consults. You’ll help to coordinate the day-to-day workflow through the hospital, encourage appropriate financial contributions from clients, and make sure hospital hygiene, cleanliness and equipment standards remain high.
You’ll be a confident, supportive leader who enjoys coaching others, giving clear feedback and leading by example in clinical standards and client care. You’ll be ready to step in and deputise for the Head Nurse when needed, and you’ll play a key role in embedding our Pet Wellbeing services across the hospital, fostering a culture of prevention, education and proactive healthcare. You’ll value a collaborative, supportive team environment and welcome a varied shift pattern that helps you balance work with life outside of work.

Our teams are collaborative and supportive, and we encourage everyone to bring their ideas, individuality and passion for pets to work with them. As well as a rewarding role and a positive, people-focused culture, we also offer a wide range of benefits, including:
- Flexible working options to support your work–life balance and individual circumstances.
