We're looking for a Receptionist to join our friendly team at PDSA Stoke. You'll be the first point of contact for pets and owners who really need our help, so delivering an excellent standard of customer service will be at the heart of what you do. You'll communicate sympathetically and courteously, helping clients feel listened to and supported from the moment they walk through the door or pick up the phone. Responsibilities
- Work a busy reception handling telephone enquiries, encouraging appropriate financial contributions from clients and maintaining accurate PDSA paperwork and records.
- Process clients attending the hospital and keep accurate records.
- Stay calm under pressure and be flexible in responding to changing demands.
- Work a varied shift pattern, including weekdays, weekends and bank holidays as part of the team rota.
- Be organised, reliable and able to prioritise workload.
Qualifications
- Good communication skills, an excellent telephone manner and a caring, professional approach.
- Previous office or reception experience, including word processing and using computerised record systems is an advantage but not essential.
- Ready to learn, happy to work as part of a supportive team, and passionate about helping us provide a welcoming, efficient service to our clients and their pets.
Shift Pattern and Hours
This is a part time role working Monday to Friday shifts of 5 hours between 8:00 and 18:00, with typical patterns including 8:00-13:00, 13:00-18:00, or 10:30-15:30. We're looking for someone who can provide flexibility, including occasional full-day cover when required. Once fully trained, the position also includes working one Saturday morning in every six, from 8:30 to 13:00.
