Position Summary: You will hold clinical governance responsibility for the hospital, lead the Veterinary Surgeon team, and deliver an efficient, professional and caring service to pets and owners in the local community. The role is ideal for a vet who enjoys a surgically biased caseload and takes a medical, pragmatic, evidence‑based approach to decision‑making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical governance for the hospital and oversee all veterinary surgical activities.
- Lead, recruit, select, coach and develop the Veterinary Surgeon team.
- Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues and senior management.
- Share skills and lead by example to develop others across clinical practice.
- Maintain and promote high standards of animal welfare and client care.
Working Hours & Conditions:
37.5-hour week with one office day. A shared Saturday morning rota, with time off in lieu, and only emergency work outside of this. The hospital is open from 8 am‑6 pm on weekdays and 8 am‑12 pm on Saturdays, with flexibility to arrange working hours within these times.
