Join Police Digital Service as a Business Analyst - Fixed Term Contract for 12 months. Salary starting at £40,000 per annum. We’re looking for an experienced Business Analyst to support delivery at scale, working across forces, operational stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams to understand needs, capture requirements and improve end-to-end processes.
You will play a key role in translating complex business challenges into clear, actionable insights, ensuring solutions are grounded in real-world operational demand and deliver consistent, high-quality outcomes nationally. Key Responsibilities:
- Analyse and document business requirements to ensure digital solutions meet operational policing needs.
- Use data and process modelling to identify improvements, efficiencies and opportunities across projects and programmes.
- Facilitate workshops and engagement sessions to gather insights and shape solution design.
- Assess risks, impacts and benefits of proposed changes and provide clear recommendations.
- Develop requirements, specifications and acceptance criteria to support design, development and testing.
- Produce clear documentation, reports and presentations for stakeholders.
- Support testing activities, including test case development and validation.
- Work with business change and training teams to support readiness and successful implementation.
- Contribute to performance measures and evaluation of process or system changes.
- Support knowledge transfer and alignment of documentation and processes across the programmes.
What you need to succeed in the role:
- Previous experience providing Business Analyst support to programme delivery.
- Strong experience in requirements gathering, process analysis and stakeholder engagement.
- Ability to translate complex information into clear, actionable outputs.
- Experience supporting technology-enabled change, including awareness of testing and data migration.
- Confident communicator with strong facilitation and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in multi-disciplinary teams.
- Knowledge of firearms licensing or firearms licensing management systems.
- Experience in blue-light or public-sector transformation.
- Familiarity with improvement methods (e.g., Systems Thinking, Six Sigma).
- Understanding of business architecture or test management approaches.
- Experience contributing to business change delivery.
