Are you looking for your next role in Web Development? Do you have Jira/DevOps experience? Are you happy working remotely with occasional trips to the office in Coventry? My client is looking for a Front-End Developer to join their technology team. Having identified a clear gap on the front-end side of our clinician-facing dashboard, internal CMS, and other internal systems, we need a dedicated owner to update and maintain these particular areas. In addition, our Web Portal has fallen behind our mobile apps in terms of features, and we want to readdress that gap too. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to grow with an ambitious healthtech scale-up - there’s room to take on more responsibility over time as you become embedded in our systems and ways of working.

The role:

  • Owning improving the front-end of our dashboard, CMS, internal systems
  • Driving forward development of our web portal, bringing it up to feature parity with our mobile apps
  • Working alongside our full-stack developer(s) on larger projects, taking the front-end lead
  • Picking up smaller, self-contained projects that let the core team focus on larger builds
  • Championing our design system across all products - carrying the torch on brand consistency and making sure our software looks and feels as good as it functions
  • Collaborating closely with design, other developers, and QA engineers to translate requirements into working front-end features

About You:

  • Strong experience in an Agile/Scrum workspace with modern, vanilla-first JavaScript - we’re looking for someone JS-primary rather than framework-dependent, so deep fundamentals matter more to us than framework years
  • Vue experience and C# preferred - we’re not looking for a React-first candidate for this role
  • A genuine eye for UI/UX and design heuristics - someone who can spot when something feels clunky or off-brand and knows how to fix it, not just implement a spec as given
  • A track record of “beautifying” software - taking functional-but-plain interfaces and elevating them, ideally with examples you can show us
  • Git/version control workflow, PR review etiquette, CI/CD pipeline awareness - GitLab experience would be a bonus
  • Working with REST APIs
  • Comfortable using AI-assisted development tools (e.g. Claude, Copilot, MCP-based workflows) as part of your day-to-day workflow
  • Able to work independently on front-end features from spec through to delivery
  • Excellent communication skills - comfortable working with a small, cross-functional team where priorities can shift quickly
  • If you have experience with Webflow that would be beneficial. This is not a coding-based tool, and if you have this skill it’s a big plus

How to prepare for a job interview at PDR Solutions Ltd

Brush Up on Your Coding Skills

For a full-time software engineering role, it's crucial that we stay sharp with our coding abilities. Expect technical questions that might involve solving problems on the spot or discussing algorithms. Practise on platforms like LeetCode or HackerRank to get comfortable with the types of questions that often come up.

Know Your Tools and Frameworks

Make sure we’re well-acquainted with the tools and technologies listed in the job description. Familiarise ourselves with any specific frameworks or programming languages mentioned. If PDR Solutions Ltd uses React or Node.js, for instance, be ready to discuss how we’ve used them in previous projects or coursework.

Showcase Your Projects

Bring along a portfolio that highlights our best work. This could be code samples, GitHub repositories, or any side projects we’ve built. Make sure we can talk through our thought process for each project, especially the challenges we faced and how we solved them—this shows our problem-solving skills in action.

Prepare for Behavioural Questions

While technical skills are key, full-time positions also require cultural fit. Be ready to discuss our previous experiences and how we handle teamwork, conflict, and deadlines. Brush up on the STAR method—Situation, Task, Action, Result—to clearly articulate our past experiences when discussing how we've contributed to a team.
