Graduate Associate Consultant in London

London Full-Time On-site

UK industry invents brilliantly but too often scales poorly. Many of these programmes are of national importance, building the capabilities, infrastructure and products the UK depends on. PDQ exists to help them get from prototype to production at pace, fixing the data, systems and processes that are holding them back

Why this work matters

PDQ was forged in a national-scale crisis programme during Covid, where we ran the delivery, the data and the digital execution when the country needed things built fast. Today we work with primes, Tier 1s and scale-ups across aerospace, automotive, energy, industrial and defence programmes, where impact is of national importance.

You won't be making slides. You'll be inside the programme working alongside client teams and experienced PDQ consultants until the desired outcomes are achieved.

What you'll do

  • Work on site with engineers and programme leads to find what's stopping a product from scaling

  • Turn engineering, production and supply chain data into decisions people act on

  • Help put changes in place, using tools like digital twins and AI where they genuinely help

  • Shape PDQ's methods and culture as one of our first hires

You'll learn directly from founders who have built leading industrial consultancies, with no slow climb through grades.

Who we're looking for

You'll probably have a STEM degree (2.1 or First), but we'll look seriously at anyone who can evidence real analytical ability. Whilst advertised as a graduate role, it is also ideal for those looking for a change in career, or currently working in consultancy but seeking more freedom to have an impact.

You're likely to:

  • Enjoy taking a messy, unclear problem and working out what really matters

  • Be comfortable with numbers and data, and curious about how things get made

  • Explain your thinking clearly to people with very different backgrounds

  • Fix things when you notice they're missing, rather than waiting to be told

  • Enjoy travelling and working away from home

  • Be energised, not merely willing, to work somewhere still being built

If you meet most of this but not all of it, apply anyway. We'd rather hear from you than have you rule yourself out.

You must be eligible for security clearance - ie UK national or 5+ years of continuous residency in the UK.

The honest bit

Whilst the people behind PDQ are very experienced and respected in the industry, the business itself is a start-up. Much of the structure larger firms offer is still being built, and you'll often be on client sites during the week. If you'd rather help build the ladder than climb one, we'd like to hear from you.
