Optimus Plus are looking for an experienced Principal Process Engineer with a strong background in leading process engineering activities across different design phases in the oil and gas industry to work on predominately early-stage process engineering activities (i.e., concept, appraise and select studies). The successful candidate will bring extensive design and engineering expertise within the oil & gas industry, providing technical leadership, guiding multi-disciplinary teams, mentoring junior engineers, and responsible for the delivery of high-quality deliverables, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards and internal procedures.

Strong skills on presenting work to clients, virtually and face-to-face, through reports and presentations. In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor/line manager. Experience in conceptual studies, FEED design, and decommissioning projects would be considered an advantage, particularly in shaping early-phase project decisions and developing robust design options.

Qualifications:

  • Engineering degree in Chemical Engineering or similar.
  • Chartered Engineer status (or actively working towards chartership) with the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) or equivalent professional body (Preferred).

Experience/competence:

  • Solid understanding of safety and environmental regulations, with appreciation of oil & gas or related industries and exposure to the delivery of engineering studies.
  • Strong working knowledge of relevant industry codes, standards, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in process engineering tools such as Aspen HYSYS, with the ability to perform standard process engineering calculations and produce high-quality technical reports.
