About The RolePD&MS Group are now looking for a Lead Pipe Stress Engineer to join our team on a full-time, on-going contract basis. This role can be based in our Aberdeen or Glasgow office on a flexible hybrid working model. Role summary: The Lead Pipe Stress Engineer is required to perform the Pipe Stress and flexibility analysis activities. Input to piping flexibility analysis, reviewing and finalising pipe and support design / layout and the arrangements, code calculations and originate and checking Piping stress deliverables. Responsibilities:Create the schedule, input to the allocation of resource and time assignments for the pipe stress teamImplement QA/QC procedures as required by Company and Client standards. Provide assurance that these standards are complied withPerform Piping Stress Analysis (static and dynamic) for A/G and U/G lines and finalise the stress documentationFinalise stress analysis design basis, critical line list, work procedure, data sheets, support specification / standardsReview, check and endorse third-party analysisInput in the planning and scheduling of Stress DeliverablesQualification of Standard Piping support details including design calculation and verification of loadsFinalise Material Requisition, Datasheets and TBE for brought out items (specialty supports, spring hangers etc.)Review and endorse Vendor drawings and documentsCo-ordinate with Piping Engineers and Designers, and other disciplines / departments as required for interfaces Co-ordinate with Piping counterparts in Client/Contractor organisationsConduct site visits and data collection from Client’s offices / plantsAttend meetings with Clients/ Contractors/ VendorsIdentify scope of work required to undertake a project / job and estimation of deliverablesInput to project plans and schedulesProvide immediate identification and escalation to Department Head of any issue with regards to resource requirements and their performance/competencyProduce cost effective engineering solutions that are fit for purpose, safe and add value to both PD&MS and the Client Ensure operational and maintenance issues are addressed in the design, seeking input from operations and maintenance personnelMonitor progress of work and achieve completion within the agreed schedule and budget Produce and check documents and stress analysis engineering design deliverablesReview documents circulated by other disciplines for IDC or commentAttend at meetings called by Project Manager / Engineer, e.g. kick-off meeting, progress meetingAttend at Design Reviews, HAZOPs, Constructability Assessments etc.Impart knowledge on up to date technical developments, client, national and international standards and legislative requirements related to the positionEnsure compliance with applicable Industry Codes and Standards, HSE Alerts, Statutory Instruments, Client and PD&MSSpecifications and Legislative Requirements and establishing order of precedence on a project-by-project basisAdhere to the company integrated management systemComply with quality assurance, health and safety and environmental policiesEnsure unsafe activities are challengedAdhere to the requirements of the best practice standards recommendations and processes, in particular, risk assessment and control, reliability and failure prevention necessary to ensure the safe design, provision and use of tools, equipment and systemsAbout YouQualifications:BSc or equivalent in relevant Engineering DisciplineChartered Engineer status (preferred)Experience/competence:Significant, demonstrable experience in Stress Analysis Detailed Design Engineering and Engineering CheckingUnderstanding of all Engineering disciplinesThorough knowledge and understanding of relevant Oil & Gas Industry Codes and StandardsHighly competent in the use of Intergraph Caesar II Pipe Stress Analysis productsDemonstrable experience in Static and Dynamic Analysis Understanding of Piping Layout, Materials and Specifications Competent in the use of MS Office applications Excellent written and spoken EnglishPersonal attributes: Our GENES, our core values, define who we are, what we stand for and how we deliver.Go the extra mileEmpower our peopleNever get complacentEngage our partnersStep up and deliverIf this sounds like you, then you could be a perfect fit.
