PD&MS Group are now looking for an experienced HSE Manager to join our team on a full-time, permanent employee basis, supporting our Grangemouth EPC contract.
The role operates on a hybrid working arrangement, with a minimum of four days per week based at our Grangemouth office/site facility and one day working remotely.
Working Monday to Friday, this opportunity is available on an employee basis only and is not open to contractors.
Role summary
The HSE Manager is required to ensure that PD&MS Group maintains or surpasses the necessary Company, Group, Industry, National and International standards for successful management of QHSE matters.
Overall management of the QHSE function within PD&MS and associated Group companies.
- Project Support
- HSE representative at project level providing HSE support and professional advice to the Company, Clients, contractors and vendors as appropriate, ensuring needs are suitably supported
- Advise and support project Management team on HSE objectives, planning and implementation as per contract requirements
- Compliance, Reporting and Collaboration
- Liaise with Regulatory and other external agencies and industry representative bodies
- Ensure compliance with all relevant HSE regulations and standards across the project
- Ensure HSE statistics are gathered, analysed and reported appropriately on a Monthly and Quarterly basis
- Monitor the adherence to HSE policies and procedures across the project
- Remain updated on industry best practices
- Risk Assessment and Management
- Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards and implement control measures
- Audits and Incident Investigation
- Develop and conduct annual HSE audits within the overall audit schedule, set out internally and/or as per customer contractual requirements
- Lead investigations into HSE incidents to identify root causes and implement corrective actions
- Ensure timely reporting, investigation and close out of HSE incidents that may occur
- Prepare incident reports and recommend preventive measure
- Engagement
- Ensure that Safety Alerts, bulletins and any other forms of HSE lateral learning are distributed appropriately
- Ensure that appropriate HSE improvement / action plans are developed and implemented as set out by customers contractual requirements
- Ensure all new personnel within the project, receive a robust HSE induction, as per company, client expectations and legislative requirements and understand the company Integrated management System (IMS)
- Promote the HSE mindset / culture throughout the project in a motivating and inspiring manner

- Responsible for ensuring professional development is maintained and identified competency requirements are undertaken in a timely manner
- Adherence to the company integrated management system
- Compliance with quality assurance, health and safety and environmental policies
- Demonstrate and promote PD&MS QHSE principles and lead by example
- Ensure unsafe activities are challenged
- Adherence to the requirements of the best practice standards recommendations and processes in the undertaking of duties, in particular, risk assessment and control, reliability and failure prevention necessary to ensure the safe design, provision and use of tools, equipment and systems
- Demonstrate and promote PD&MS values and lead by example
- Ensure direct report performance reviews are carried out within the required timescales (where applicable)
- Competency Standards – Offshore and applied projects
- NEBOSH General Certificate in Health and Safety or equivalent
- NEBOSH Diploma in Health and Safety or Equivalent
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Extensive knowledge of HSE legislation, Codes and Standards
- Demonstrable experience in conducting audits, investigations and root cause analysis
- Competent in the use of MS Office applications
- Experience in working in an offshore/site-based environments
- Experience in managing and developing others
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Survival BOSIET/FOET with CA-EBS
- Competency Standards – Onshore site based
- NEBOSH General Certificate in Health and Safety or equivalent
- NEBOSH Diploma in Health and Safety or Equivalent
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Extensive knowledge of HSE legislation, Codes and Standards
- Demonstrable experience in conducting audits, investigations and root cause analysis
- Competent in the use of MS Office applications
- Extensive knowledge of CDM Regulations as Principal Contractor
- Familiarity with COMAH, PUWER and other UK Regulations
- CCNSG Safety Passport
- Experience in working in an offshore/site-based environments
