Working Pattern: Permanent / Full Time
As the Senior Mechanical Engineer – Static Equipment, you will:
- Undertake engineering duties associated with design, certification and safe commissioning both on and offshore.
- Exercise technical authority, autonomy and professional acumen in all activities.
- Supervise the team to achieve these duties.
- Work with Static Equipment: Storage tanks, heat exchangers, pressure vessels, boilers, valves, piping, separators and package management.
- Identify scope of work required to undertake a project/job.
- Estimate deliverables and input to project plans and schedules.
- Immediately identify to Lead Engineer any issues that may cause changes to the original design intent or deliverables required.
- Produce cost-effective engineering solutions that are fit for purpose, safe and add value to both PD&MS and the client.
- Ensure operational and maintenance issues are addressed in the design by seeking input from operations and maintenance personnel.
- Conduct surveys, both onshore and offshore, to gather information for executing workscopes.
- Monitor progress of work and achieve completion within the agreed schedule and budget.
- Report progress as per PD&MS systems and procedures.
- Produce and check documents and engineering design deliverables created by your discipline.
- Review documents circulated by other disciplines for IDC or comment.
- Review supplier/vendor documents.
- Communicate with other disciplines on design and engineering issues.
- Check requisitions for purchase of engineered items and services.
- Attend meetings called by Project Manager/Engineer, e.g. kick-off meeting, progress meeting.
- Attend design reviews, HAZOPs, constructability assessments, etc.
