About The Role

PD&MS Group are now looking for an experienced Senior QC Inspector to join our BIQHSE Team on a part-time (20 hrs) on-going contractor basis. This role will be based in Grangemouth. Candidates must have previous experience carrying out NDT & welding inspections to be considered for this role. CCSNG certificate and/or previous work experience on COMAH sites is preferred.

Role Summary

The Senior QC Inspector is required to maintain quality standards by approving incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products; recording quality results.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct Vendor QC Inspections / Audits and site visits (Grangemouth)
  • Liaise with Client and 3rd Party Inspectors
  • Check and approve equipment and fabrication packs / data dossiers
  • Maintain Welder Qualifications and develop and maintain Weld Register
  • WPS selection for PD&MS construction works
  • Focal point for QC activities at PD&MS managed facilities
  • Coordination of third party inspectors to satisfy quality plan requirements (checking certification of qualified welders for specific types of welds)
  • Monitor and measure supplier vendor performance, conduct analysis and report trends
  • Compile and issue QC Reports
  • Provide QC Inspectors with guidance and direction to meet targets
  • Help produce Quality documentation for the client as directed by the QHSE Manager
  • Liaise with Procurement and Materials department to ascertain Inspection schedules
  • Liaise with client on specific inspections
  • Develop and manage inspection tracker
  • Responsible for the development, management and continued improvement of QC system in alignment with management system
  • QC Tech review of Package Management documentation
  • Attending quality meetings
  • Responsible for ensuring professional development is maintained and identified competency requirements are undertaken in a timely manner
  • Adherence to the company integrated management system
  • Compliance with quality assurance, health and safety and environmental policies
  • Demonstrate and promote PD&MS QHSE principles and lead by example
  • Ensure unsafe activities are challenged
  • Adherence to the best practice standards recommendations and processes in the undertaking of duties, in particular, risk assessment and control, reliability and failure prevention necessary to ensure the safe design, provision and use of tools, equipment and systems
  • Demonstrate and promote PD&MS values and lead by example
  • Ensure direct report performance reviews are carried out within the required timescales (where applicable)

About You

Qualifications:

  • CSWIP 3.2 Welding Inspector or equivalent - Essential
  • CCSNG Site Safety Passport - preferred

Experience / Competence:

  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Demonstrable experience in developing and maintaining environmental, quality assurance and quality control systems
  • Good understanding of Codes/standards requirements, typically ASME, AWS, BS EN and DNV
  • Good understanding of the Company held certification standards
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering a safe operation in the work environment
  • Competent in the use of MS Office Applications
  • Demonstrable exposure to and understanding of NDT techniques and processes (essential)
  • Understanding of contractual, commercial and cost issues (preferred)
  • Demonstrable experience of Risk Management (preferred)
  • Excellent written and spoken English
