PDG Media is seeking an experienced Sales Development Representative to join the team. The ideal candidate will have plenty of experience in a sales role, ideally selling in the food & beverage space or for marketing agencies. Specialty coffee experience or knowledge of the industry and key players is a massive bonus.
PDG Media is a specialist GTM & marketing agency working in the F&B sector, with a focus on specialty coffee. We’re part of the wider PDG Global media group, which includes the trade publications Perfect Daily Grind & Coffee Intelligence, as well as the Producer & Roaster Forum. We’re also launching a brand new initiative in 2025 called the Global Coffee Awards.
We are offering a role on a permanent/full-time basis to candidates based in the UK. It will be predominantly remote, with office days dependent on the candidate's location. The ideal candidate will love speaking to people every single day and identify key business opportunities – and strategise how to close crucial deals. You will be responsible for the pipeline for our strategic project sales. This will mean identifying target customers, establishing a pipeline for opportunities, nurturing and engaging with them as needed, and converting them at the right time.
Our current and former agency clients include brands such as MTPak Coffee, Hardtank (RTD and equipment), Flo-Smart, as well as national organisations such as Guatemalan Coffees, UKAid, and Adam Smith International. You will also work closely with the COO in accordance with the sales strategy to drive new business growth and meet revenue targets. You will be comfortable communicating with clients at all levels, and will have the ability to identify their needs and pass this information onto the rest of the team.
As part of the team of one of the world’s leading coffee publishing companies, you will:
- Work independently according to an existing sales strategy to meet revenue targets
- Identify and pursue new sales opportunities for sponsorships and long-term partnerships
- Maintain strong working relationships with existing clients & sponsors
- Define and re-assess our ideal customer profile as needed
- Negotiate renewals with existing clients
- Communicate with our digital projects team to co-ordinate project launches
- Upsell to clients from across our portfolio of publications
- Collaborate with the publishing team to communicate deliverables and client needs
- Join regular meetings to update other team members on sales
- Regularly meet with the CEO and COO to provide updates on revenue goals
Essential:
- At least 2 years’ experience in a client-facing sales or account management role in the food & beverage space or for a marketing agency
- Track record of delivering high-value sales which may require a long timeline for nurturing
- Experience building or managing a CRM
- Experience using an email outreach tool (such as Apollo, Gong, Instantly or similar)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Track record of developing and executing a sales strategy
Desirable:
- Bilingual (English & Spanish)
- Experience with HubSpot
- Experience with specialty coffee
- Experience working with lead generation services and tools (such as Clay, Snov.io or Zoominfo)
- Experience with G Suite
- Experience working in international teams
