Our client, one of the UK’s leaders in the golf retail industry, is offering an outstanding employment opportunity to work within their business. The client, who are a large and dynamic company, continue to enjoy sustained growth. As a result of recent growth, we are now embarking on an important recruitment exercise for our client. As well as being part of an exciting and dynamic team you will also have the opportunity to gain an industry recognised qualification within your first 18 months if you wish to do so.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS
- Field sales to wholesale trade accounts comprised of golf retailers, corporate customers and niche target markets in outdoor sports, gardening and motorcycling
- Add new customer accounts and be the primary point of contact for servicing existing customers in southeast England
- Securing, processing and monitoring customer orders
- Providing product knowledge, advice and sales training support to elevate sales
- Supplying product marketing materials and POS (point of sale) assets and information to customers
- Tracking and reporting sales performance and financial data effectively, on a weekly basis
- Liaising with Head Office staff to progress orders seamlessly
- Representing the brand appropriately at trade exhibitions and events, as required
KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience as an independent sales rep with a track record of success
- Prospecting and lead generation skills. An existing network of relationships with golf pro shops in the southeast is highly desirable
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Understanding of the golf market, and knowledge of golf consumer and retail trends
- Proficient IT skills in Microsoft office products (particularly Excel)
- Independently minded and self-motivated individual with the ability to manage an appointments diary and proactively organise customer meetings in advance
- Strong interest in, or passion for golf
- An ability to play golf competently is desirable
- Ability to work from home and travel freely to service customers at retail venues
- Full clean UK driving licence
- An interest / participation in Golf would be an advantage although not a requisite.
