Job Description

POSITION: Head of Estates\\n\\nSALARY: Competitive, within the £65,000–£70,000 range\\n\\nLOCATION: North West\\n\\nOur client is a reputable not-for-profit organisation with multiple sites across the North West.\\n\\nJob Outline\\n\\nThe Head of Estates will provide strategic leadership and operational management for facilities management (FM), overseeing service delivery by an appointed third-party provider as well as specialist contractors. This role encompasses the strategic direction and development of FM services, capital project planning, and the assurance of Health & Safety standards throughout all locations and activities.\\n\\nKey Responsibilities\\n\\n * Build and maintain effective relationships with a dedicated and high-performing FM partner contractor.\\n\\n * Develop and implement strategic plans for capital projects and asset replacement, aligned with organisational objectives.\\n\\n * Conduct audits across all sites to ensure compliance with business requirements, legal obligations, and contractual standards.\\n\\n * Manage budgets efficiently, delivering exemplary FM services while identifying opportunities for cost savings and improved efficiency.\\n\\n * Oversee the performance and development of the caretaker workforce, collaborating with site managers to uphold high standards.\\n\\n * Formulate and execute a cohesive FM and project plan, effectively identifying and prioritising critical strategic issues.\\n\\n * Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation, policies, and procedures in all FM-related matters.\\n\\n * Participate in a 24/7 on-call rota as required.\\n\\n * Lead, manage, and support the Estates Project Manager, fostering their professional development to achieve functional goals.\\n\\n * Maintain responsibility for expenditure and cost control within agreed budgets across all FM service areas and locations.\\n\\n * Direct the delivery of the strategic five-year project plan, ensuring completion within budget and on schedule.\\n\\nCandidate Background & Experience\\n\\n * A minimum of ten years' senior management experience within FM or Building Services.\\n\\n * Possession of a high-level technical qualification in Facilities Management or a related field.\\n\\n * Demonstrated comprehensive technical knowledge spanning various FM disciplines.\\n\\n * Proven experience managing capital investment projects.\\n\\n * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and manage both internal and external stakeholders effectively.\\n\\n * Energetic, able to thrive in a fast-paced environment, and results-oriented.\\n\\n * Proficient in IT and systems relevant to the role.\\n\\nInterested candidates are invited to submit their CV in strictest confidence to Paul Davidson
