Our client, a growing soft facilities management services company, is looking to recruit a Mobile Cleaning Supervisor to be responsible for cleaning operations of circa 20 sites. The client operates in a start-up style environment: fast-paced, hands-on, and constantly evolving.
Job Purpose:
To be responsible for the management of cleaning technicians within their respective sites, to complete both pre and post audits alongside a periodical audit. Pre audits to include photographs, detail on damage, any conditions of license, noise abatement, H&S inspections, Van audits, spot site checks whilst HLC in progress, customer liaison, Timegate, payroll, site cleanliness, people management. This role is ideal for an experienced mobile cleaner or cleaning supervisor with 1–2 years of experience in the commercial cleaning sector who is hungry for progression. This role is responsible for managing circa 20 sites of a utilities supplier, with progression opportunities to operations manager within 1 year.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage and update staff rotas to ensure full site coverage
- Hold and manage keys securely, including opening/locking sites
- Oversee stock control and ensure supplies are available across sites
- Conduct site visits and quality audits to maintain standards
- Carry out quality checks to ensure high cleaning standards
- Carry out quote/estimate visits (full training provided)
- Communicate professionally via Outlook, including replying to emails and scheduling meetings
- Use basic Excel formulas (SUM, multiplication) to update prices and maintain simple logs
- Provide hands-on cleaning cover when required
- Work flexibly, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends when the business needs it - additional allowance pay
- Participate in duty/on-call rotation for emergency cover (industry standard)
- Drive between sites (full UK driving license, no points)
- Extremely organised
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of new cleaners
- Assist with improving operational processes and building new systems from scratch
- Help develop documentation, checklists, and operational templates
- Contribute ideas to enhance efficiency, quality, and client satisfaction
- Support the owners with small project work as the business scales
- Assist with client relationship management and service reviews
- Provide occasional support to domestic teams during peak periods
- Participate in business development activities (e.g., site surveys, quoting support)
Candidate’s background & experience:
- Multi-site Cleaning experience essential, supervisory experience would be a bonus
- 1–2 years of experience in the commercial cleaning sector
- Background as a mobile cleaner or cleaning supervisor
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Confident managing rotas, stock, keys, and staff coordination
- Able to communicate professionally via email and phone
- Comfortable using Outlook, Gmail Calendar, and iPhone apps
- Able to use basic Excel formulas (SUM, multiplication)
- Flexible and willing to adjust working hours to meet operational needs
- Thrives in a fast-paced, start-up style environment
- Proactive, takes initiative, and enjoys creating processes from scratch
