A vacancy has arisen for a self-motivated, well organised, reliable and punctual individual with a keen eye for detail as a Jetty Operator, full time at PD Ports within the PD Shipping & Inspection Services team.
Location: Erith, Kent
Working Arrangements: 40 hours Monday-Friday rotating shifts (6-2/2-10/10-6). This is a 24/7 operation, and the role therefore involves regular weekend work for which extra payments are made.
The five main things our Jetty Operatorwill be working on are:
- Work in accordance with written procedures to ensure the quality and quantity of the client’s vegetable oils and rapeseed products.
- Conduct basic quality tests of cargo, record working times and complete computer-based reporting systems.
- Inspection of all loading/discharging compartments for suitability.
- Communicate with all parties concerned including ship’s crew, jetty operators and office.
- Take reference samples from all cargo handled.
We are seeking someone who:

Starting salary is £28,000 -£30,000, plus additional payments for weekend work.
