When an issue is escalated from the Service Desk, you’ll work closely with the team to understand the background, then head on‑site to resolve the problem. Whether it’s hardware or software, you’ll take ownership of the issue and get things working again for the customer.
Responsibilities
- Work safely at all times, following health and safety requirements on customer sites
- Manage and resolve onsite technical issues across hardware, software and networking
- Install, configure and upgrade IT equipment including PCs, servers, networking and peripherals
- Carry out planned maintenance visits and reactive breakfix support
- Liaise with the Service Desk to review escalated issues before attending site
- Keep clear records of work completed, updates made and next actions
- Communicate clearly with customers, keeping them informed throughout
- Provide basic user guidance and explain technical concepts in plain English
- Identify potential risks or improvements within customer environments
- Escalate complex issues where required and work alongside senior engineers
- Travel between customer sites and manage your schedule effectively
- Provide remote technical support and assist the Service Desk between on‑site visits.
- Represent PCS professionally while working on customer premises
- Take ownership of escalated IT issues, resolving hardware and software problems on site.
