Position Summary

Magellan Aerospace, Llay Wrexham has an exciting opportunity for Trainee Quality Engineer.

  • Full time permanent position
  • 39 hours per week
  • Job location: Llay, Wrexham, LL12 0PB.
  • Unionised site – works in partnership with Unite the Union.

To assist with day to day activities supporting Quality Engineer and Quality function which could include documentation preparation, internal audits, supporting daily regular operating cadences and problem solving.

Comfortable in strategic data driven tools and processes as well as pragmatic approaches in an aerospace/manufacturing environment in a workshop environment, supporting the shop floor in daily Quality related activities.

This role will report into a Quality Engineer.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Internal audits
  • Documentation preparation
  • Liaise with Magellan sites and internal departments on supplier quality related issues.
  • Support in the timely closure of Supplier related 8Ds.
  • Supporting daily regular operating cadences
  • Problem solving

Position Requirements

Academic:

  • Apprenticeship in Manufacturing in Aerospace industry

Experience:

  • Manufacturing experience in Aerospace industry

Key Competencies:

  • Familiar with problem solving tools
  • Comfortable in working under direction
  • Clear communicator

Other skills/Abilities

Skills:

  • The job requires IT Skills to include Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook)
