Technical IT Project Manager within a Film/TV Media production environment
UK based Hybrid Working – West London Area
UK/PST working hours 1pm-9pm
Inside IR35 to 550 (approx 700 to umbrella)
We are seeking a Technical IT Project Manager experienced in a Film/TV/Media Production environment to oversee various technical projects. The role involves managing project initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring, and closure, with a focus on supporting production groups and technology teams. Due to the US-based project stakeholders, working hours will be 1pm – 9pm UK time to align with PST hours.
The position offers a hybrid working model, primarily from home 3-4 days a week, with some travel to West London/Greater London locations (own transport may be required).
Joining the Program Management & Enabling Technologies team, you will work with seasoned technologists supporting world-class productions, developing innovative production technology solutions, and solving complex problems in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the project manager and point of contact for UK-based production teams, managing production requests, updates, priorities, schedules, technical requirements, and project plans.
- Lead calls during different production phases: pre-production, production, and post-production, facilitating communication between production and technology engineers.
- Coordinate with other project managers and resources to assign tasks to US-based Studio Technology engineers, ensuring timely completion.
- Manage multiple concurrent projects from intake to post-mortem, including scope, planning, resource allocation, and execution.
- Provide clear project status reports covering timelines, milestones, budgets, and issues to stakeholders.
- Prioritize and escalate operational tasks, execute work plans, and adapt to changing requirements.
- Utilize business intelligence tools (e.g., PowerBI) for reporting, KPIs, and corrective actions.
- Identify operational inefficiencies and risks, implementing improvements.
- Create workflow diagrams and process maps to optimize production technology processes.
Required Experience & Qualifications:
- 5+ years in Technical Project Management, with experience in waterfall and agile methodologies.
- 3+ years managing diverse technology projects in media production environments.
- Experience working with cross-functional technical teams in content creation, broadcast, or similar fields.
- Proficiency with project management tools like Smartsheet and Jira.
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to create workflow diagrams using tools like Lucidchart.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with MS Power BI or similar BI tools.
- PMP certification and/or Certified Scrum Master preferred.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline.
Scheduling: 1:00-9:00 PM UTC to coordinate with US PST hours.
